Live Band Karaoke! August 1 on the Village Green

The Township of Scotch Plains will be hosting Live Band Karaoke Night on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in downtown Scotch Plains on the Alan Augustine Village Green (430 Park Ave).

Live Band Karaoke Night will feature the band The Golden Boyz of New Brunswick, and participants will get to be the “lead singer” for the band and sing songs live from a variety of genres including Rock, Pop, Punk, Funk, Motown, Metal, and R&B.

“It’s always happening in Scotch Plains,” said Mayor Al Smith. “This will be another fun, unique event that helps make Scotch Plains downtown a vibrant and dynamic place to visit. Live Band Karaoke Night is the perfect event to bring people together, so come to downtown and join me in singing a song or two,” added Mayor Al Smith.

“In conjunction with our redevelopment efforts, the Township is excited to bring Live Band Karaoke Night to Scotch Plains,” said Tom Strowe, Project Coordinator for Redevelopment who will emcee the event. “Choose your song, own the stage, and bring your cheering section for a rockin’ night in downtown. If you’re not a singer, just bring a blanket and a chair and enjoy the show,” added Tom Strowe.

Live Band Karaoke Night is a free, family event that is open to people of all ages. To participate in Live Band Karaoke Night, just simply sign up to sing from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on August 1 and you will be called on stage to join the band and sing your favorite song. A list of songs will be available at the event and all song choices will be family-friendly.
