Scotch Plains Remembers D-Day

This Thursday, June 6, marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a pivotal moment in World War II when Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France.

On that historic day in 1944, more than 150,000 Allied troops stormed five beaches—Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword—marking the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi occupation.

Scotch Plains honors this solemn anniversary, remembering the immense bravery and sacrifice of those who participated in this monumental event.
