Scotch Plains Hosts Annual Menorah Lighting on Village Green

On Sunday evening, Scotch Plains hosted our annual menorah lighting ceremony on the Alan Augustine Village Green as local residents came out to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.

Rabbi Avrohom Blesofsky of The Chabad of Union County presided over the menorah lighting and Mayor Josh Losardo lit the first candle.

The event also included an ice-carving demonstration of the menorah, and a gelt drop as Deputy Mayor Elizabeth Stamler and Councilmember Ellen Zimmerman tossed gold-wrapped chocolates to children from the bucket of a fire truck.
