JOB POST: Part-time Electrical Building Inspector
P/T ELECTRICAL BUILDING INSPECTOR – The Township of Scotch Plains is seeking qualified applicants in possession of a valid Electrical and Building Inspector’s License issued by NJ DCA. (Department of Community Affairs); Multiple licenses and subcodes preferred. Inspects new and existing buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and enforces the same to ensure public safety, health, and welfare; does related work as required. Experience in Residential and Commercial Construction, rehabilitation of existing structures and new residential construction, is preferred. Special Data Logic programs are used throughout the department. Ability to deal with Architects, Engineers other design professionals, contractors, and homeowners in a professional, courteous manner. Excellent communication skills are imperative, Electrical and Building Inspector works directly under the Construction Code Official of the Township. Valid driver’s license required. 8 to 12 hours/week; Salary: $20,000-$25,000
