Scam Alert: Protect Yourself from Fraud
Scammers may impersonate our town to trick residents into making fraudulent payments. These scams can arrive by email, text, phone call, or letter and may look very convincing.
The Town will never demand immediate payment or ask you to pay by gift card, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency. If something feels off, trust your instincts and verify before you act.
What to watch for

- Urgent language or threats of legal action
- Requests to change how or where you send payment
- Links or attachments in unsolicited emails or texts
- Requests for personal information like your SSN or bank details
What to do
- Contact the Town directly using a number from our official website — not from the message
