Scotch Plains Property Assessment Update

An important update from Professional Property Appraisers, Inc., a third-party vendor conducting the town-wide property tax revaluation for Scotch Plains:

 

 

We are in the final stages of completing interior property inspections. Once these inspections are finalized, we will begin distributing impact letters outlining updated property assessments and estimated property taxes. Our goal is to mail these letters by mid-November. Each impact letter will include a phone number that property owners may call with questions or concerns regarding their new assessment.

 

 

Property owners who have questions about their new assessed value or believe their assessment may not accurately reflect their property's value will have the opportunity to discuss their concerns through an informal appeal process. Instructions for contacting the appropriate office will be provided in the impact letter.

We encourage property owners to review their letters carefully and contact the designated office if there are any questions or concerns. Additional updates will be provided as the assessment process moves toward completion.
